Software Training

We are experienced computer users. We also know an awful lot about the software that runs on computers, and we are good at teaching others how to use it.

  • Teach me about Getting Started on a PC
  • Teach me about Microsoft Windows (any version)
  • Teach me about Internet Browsing
  • Teach me about Email (eg. Hotmail, Outlook Express)
  • Teach me about Security (Antivirus, Firewalls, Spyware, etc)
  • Teach me about Photo Editing (eg. Photoshop)
  • Teach me about Word Processing (eg. Word)
  • Teach me about Spreadsheets (eg. Excel)
  • Teach me about Presentations (eg. Powerpoint)
  • Teach me about Website Design

Unlike other training companies who will train users how to carry out separate tasks one-at-a-time, we have a different approach to things.

We train our users to 'help themselves'. This is an easy concept to grasp:

All computer programs are written to help the end user find what they're looking for as easily as possible, and hence over the years there has become a template upon which software writers base the layout of their program. This is especially apparent in Microsoft-created programs (eg. Word, Excel). Therefore, if you'd like to perform a certain function, it should be found in a similar place regardless of the program you are using.

Take for example the cut, copy and paste functions: you will find them under the 'Edit' menu in nearly all applications! The same goes for many other functions. In this way, a short amount of training helps you get a long way, and in the future, when you are using a program for the first time, you'll have a very good idea where to find all the basic functions the program uses.

We teach users about specific programs in more detail so that they may gain an understanding of the full capabilities of the software, and we do this at a pace suitable for the individual.

We don't use techno-terminology unless it is necessary and when we do so, we will explain ourselves fully to ensure that you have understood before continuing.

Please contact us if you feel we could benefit you to discuss any details or make an appointment.
